YG’s Monster Rookie BABYMONSTER Storms into the Billboard Main Charts, Indicating a Global Phenomenon



YG’s new girl group, BABYMONSTER, has once again made its mark on the US Billboard main charts, kicking off their official debut activities on a high note. According to the latest charts released by Billboard on the 9th (local time), BABYMONSTER’s title track from their first mini album, “SHEESH,” has debuted at number 87 on the Billboard Global 200 and at number 35 on the Billboard Global (Excl. U.S).


With this, BABYMONSTER has set a new personal best record for the team with the release of their official debut album. Their pre-debut track “BATTER UP” had previously entered the charts at numbers 101 and 49 respectively, quickly marking them as the next global superstars to watch.


Moreover, since last week, BABYMONSTER’s full-scale activities have begun, showing signs of a global popularity storm. After their first music broadcast performance, “SHEESH” skyrocketed to number 82 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global Chart and climbed to 73 the following day, fueling anticipation for future developments.

BABYMONSTER has sold 401,287 copies of their first mini album [BABYMONS7ER] within a week of its release, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales by a K-pop girl group debut album. The album, showcasing the members’ dark charms through the hip-hop genre title track “SHEESH” among its 7 tracks that melt into a complete seven-member music world, has received a positive response from global music fans.
