BABYMONSTER Soars in Popularity Thanks to Stellar Live Performances and Surpasses 100 Million Streams

YG’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER has set a new record on Spotify with their pre-debut song “BATTER UP.”

According to the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify, “BATTER UP” surpassed 100 million plays as of April 27th (local time). This milestone was reached in approximately five months after its release on November 27 last year, making it the group’s first track to achieve 100 million streams.

The recently released mini album “BABYMONS7ER” has been well-received among music fans, further igniting BABYMONSTER’s popularity. The group’s outstanding live performances have led to a sharp increase in streaming for all their songs, including “BATTER UP,” with monthly listeners (over the last 28 days) now exceeding 9.4 million.

Despite having no official promotions, “BATTER UP” had previously achieved significant success on various global charts. It topped iTunes charts in 21 countries, ranking high on the worldwide charts, and reached 101st and 49th on the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S charts, respectively.

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is currently gaining popularity both domestically and internationally after the release of their first mini album “BABYMONS7ER” on April 1st. The title track “SHEESH” has consistently ranked in the top tier of Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global for 27 consecutive days and has charted in the Weekly Top Songs Global for three consecutive weeks. It also achieved its highest positions yet, placing 33rd on the Billboard Global 200 and 16th on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. In South Korea, “SHEESH” continues to rank at the top of major music charts like Melon.
