Rising Star BABYMONSTER Clinches First Music Show Trophy One Month Post Debut

YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER has secured their first music show trophy within a month of their official debut, proving their global appeal.

On the 2nd, BABYMONSTER claimed the top spot for the first week of May on Mnet’s ‘Ｍ COUNTDOWN’ with their title track ‘SHEESH’. Despite wrapping up their official promotions, they scored high across all segments including digital streaming, SNS, and fan votes, leading to a significant victory.

Their overwhelming live performance capabilities have drawn attention alongside the rise in digital streaming numbers that helped propel them to first place. ‘SHEESH’ gradually climbed the ranks on major domestic music platforms like Bugs, Genie, and FLO, ultimately securing top spots, and impressively jumped to 9th in Melon’s TOP100—a challenging feat for newcomers.

The song also performed exceptionally on global charts. ‘SHEESH’ consecutively entered Spotify’s Daily Top Song Chart for 31 days and maintained a spot in the Weekly Top Song Chart for three weeks. It achieved its personal best by ranking 33rd on the Billboard Global 200 and 16th on the Billboard Global (Billboard Global Excl. U.S).

BABYMONSTER is set to continue their dynamic activities. They will start their fan meeting tour in Asia with two days at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, on the 11th and 12th. Following their promotion in Japan, they are expected to dazzle at Japan’s largest music festival, ‘Summer Sonic 2024’ in August, showcasing their explosive stage capabilities to a global audience.
