2NE1 Might Reunite: Dramatic First Meeting with YANG HYUN SUK in 8 Years
A dramatic reunion has finally occurred between YG executive producer YANG HYUN SUK and the members of 2NE1, marking their first full-group meeting in about 8 years.
According to YG Entertainment, YANG HYUN SUK and the members of 2NE1 (CL, Park Bom, SANDARA PARK, and MINZY) met on the afternoon of the 27th at the new YG building in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul.
YANG warmly welcomed each of the four 2NE1 members, and the meeting, which lasted about two hours, was filled with meaningful and significant conversations, YG reported.
2NE1 holds a special place in YG’s history. Currently, BLACKPINK has established itself as the world’s top girl group, and recently BABYMONSTER has successfully made its official debut, following in the footsteps. 2NE1 essentially started the lineage of YG girl groups with what is known as ‘YG DNA.’
This meeting between YANG and 2NE1 was especially noteworthy because it wasn’t just a casual personal meeting; it was an official event that took place during the members’ first visit to the new YG headquarters. Additionally, the fact that the members sought out YANG to mark their 15th debut anniversary suggests that there might be a new 2NE1 project on the horizon, sparking intense interest and attention from fans worldwide.
YG Entertainment expressed, “As this was the first conversation between YANG and the 2NE1 members in 8 years, no concrete plans have been made yet. However, given YANG’s special affection for 2NE1 and his empathetic response to the members’ requests, we are hopeful to soon share some good news with the fans.”
2NE1 debuted in 2009 with the hit single ‘Fire’ and has since released numerous hits such as ‘I Don’t Care’, ‘Go Away’, ‘Lonely’, ‘Ugly’, ‘Come Back Home’, ‘I Am the Best’, and ‘Can’t Nobody’, receiving much love and acclaim.
