TREASURE Earns ‘Double Platinum’ Certification from Japan Record Association
K-POP group TREASURE has proven its hot popularity in Japan by receiving the ‘Double Platinum’ certification from the Japan Record Association.
According to YG Entertainment on July 11th, TREASURE achieved this prestigious certification for their second full album ‘REBOOT’, released on July 28th last year. The ‘Double Platinum’ certification is awarded to albums that have achieved a cumulative shipment of over 500,000 copies. The significance is greater because TREASURE achieved this with their Korean original album, not a Japanese version, indicating a strong core fan base.
Their unique standing is due to their consistent growth locally. Upon its release, ‘REBOOT’ immediately topped Billboard Japan’s ‘Hot Albums’ and ‘Top Albums Sales’ charts, subsequently charting for 32 and 31 consecutive weeks respectively, proving its long-running popularity.
Moreover, during this year’s completed tour in Japan, they managed to attract 300,000 fans over 16 shows in 7 cities. Currently, they are embarking on their second local fan meeting tour, which covers 6 cities and 23 sessions, further accelerating their upward trajectory. They have also conquered local terrestrial TV drama OSTs.
TREASURE is set to hold the ‘2024 TREASURE RELAY TOUR [REBOOT] FINAL IN SEOUL’ at the KSPO DOME in Bangi-dong, Olympic Park, Seoul, on August 15th. Having recently successfully concluded their performances in Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta, they are poised to celebrate a grand finale of their second Asia tour with their fans in Korea.
