YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as YG) has announced the comeback and tour plans for 2NE1 and BLACKPINK in 2025, signaling the resumption of full-group activities.
Notably, Chief Producer Yang Hyun Suk has unveiled the 2NE1 project, announcing a fresh start with the full group. Additionally, a roadmap for the vigorous activities of YG artists extending from this fall to next year has been revealed, drawing attention.
On the 22nd, YG Entertainment posted ‘YG Announcement 2NE1 / 2025 YG PLAN’ on its official blog. The video features Chief Producer Yang introducing the future activity plans while officially confirming the collaboration with 2NE1, celebrating their 15th debut anniversary.
Earlier, YG announced that Chief Producer Yang and the four members of 2NE1 had an official meeting for the first time in about eight years at the new YG building in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul. This much-anticipated reunion of global fans has led to the tangible result of ‘collaboration’.
The start of this project, completed through Chief Producer Yang’s determination and 2NE1’s strong will, is the hosting of a solo concert. Under YG’s full support, 2NE1 will hold a concert in Seoul in early October. Following this, additional plans for a global tour, including performances in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan, are in progress.
Chief Producer Yang said, “This concert will be very special. The generation that grew up with 2NE1 and listened to their music is sharing memories. We will work hard with all the staff to create a successful performance.”
Additionally, the aggressive activity plans for YG artists were disclosed. Chief Producer Yang hinted, “2025 will be a year when many artists will be active simultaneously,” and noted, “It is the year when BLACKPINK’s comeback and world tour will begin.” Furthermore, TREASURE and BABYMONSTER are also expected to target the global market through world tours.
There is more exciting news. Along with AKMU, who are working on a new album, WINNER’s Song Minho and Kang Seungyoon are set to be discharged at the end of December, making WINNER’s full-group activities imminent. Above all, the work for launching a new group is being swiftly promoted. This is the first time Chief Producer Yang has directly mentioned a new group.
Chief Producer Yang said, “The tentatively named ‘NEXT MONSTER’ is on standby. Next year, we will definitely introduce the new group to the fans,” and added, “We will work hard to create more time for many YG singers to be with the fans,” asking for support.
Meanwhile, at the end of the video, numerous hit songs, including 2NE1’s debut single ‘Fire,’ ‘I Don’t Care,’ ‘Follow Me,’ ‘Can’t Nobody,’ ‘Go Away,’ ‘Clap Your Hands,’ and ‘I Am the Best,’ were featured in a medley, raising expectations for their return.
