BABYMONSTER Launches Own Content, Reveals Fan Club Name: MONSTIEZ for the First Time
Girl group BABYMONSTER has officially announced their fandom name.
YG Entertainment posted on their official blog on July 27, introducing a new content format with “[BAEMON News 7] BABYMONSTER Fandom Name Release” as the title. The video showcases a news-style format filled with humorous skits and the members’ delightful variety show charm.
In the video, BABYMONSTER members appear as anchors, reporters, K-pop experts, and weather forecasters, each adopting a unique character. Their playful acting exudes a charm that is bound to bring smiles to viewers.
Most notably, in this video, BABYMONSTER revealed their official fandom name for the first time, drawing significant attention. They also unveiled their official lightstick, further strengthening their bond with global fans.
The first official fandom name is “MONSTIEZ.” “MONSTIEZ” combines “MON’S” from the team name and “TIES,” symbolizing the close relationship members wish to foster with their fans, where they can rely on and support each other.
The first glimpse of the official lightstick features an eye-catching design with a red horn, symbolic of BABYMONSTER, atop a white hemisphere. Its intuitive yet adorable appearance has piqued curiosity about the forthcoming official release of the lightstick.
A representative from YG stated, “Inspired by the enthusiasm of fans who wish to feel closer to BABYMONSTER’s charm, we have launched this new proprietary content. We plan to continuously release fun videos featuring the members’ unique wit and vibrant chemistry, so please look forward to them.”
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is set to meet music fans worldwide with a flurry of activities in the second half of this year. They will hold their debut fan meeting in Korea on August 10 and 11, appear at Japan’s largest music festival ‘Summer Sonic 2024,’ and release their first full album, significantly expanding their interactions with fans.
