YG ENTERTAINMENT Reactivates 2NE1 YouTube Channel After 7 Years, Features CL’s Live Performance

YG ENTERTAINMENT has restarted the 2NE1 channel after seven years. On August 17, the company posted a video on their official blog and the 2NE1 YouTube channel featuring CL as a surprise guest at a TREASURE concert. This marks the first video upload on the 2NE1 YouTube channel in about seven years.

CL etched her presence as a legendary artist with her solo tracks “THE BADDEST FEMALE” and “MTBD,” showcasing her powerful rapping and intense performance, which offered an extreme level of engagement that captivated the audience. The crowd responded with explosive cheers and a standing ovation.

At the end of the video, the scene featuring Executive Director YANG HYUN SUK, who applauded the longest, also caught attention. The synergy between the two pioneers who wrote the first chapter of YG’s girl group legend was particularly notable. CL stepping up as a guest at TREASURE’s debut concert four years into their career and showing the loyalty among YG FAMILY’s seniors and juniors added a warm touch.

With CL’s recent performances drawing continuous attention, anticipation is building for the 2NE1 15th anniversary concert. Previously, YG announced that due to the rapid sell-out of the initial two shows, with over 400,000 concurrent online attendees, an additional show was added. This last opportunity to witness the return of the “legendary girl group” is expected to spark fierce competition for tickets.

YG ENTERTAINMENT stated, “To somewhat alleviate the disappointment of fans worldwide who couldn’t witness CL’s performance live, our staff unusually shared a fan-cam video shot with a mobile phone. Both 2NE1 and YG staff are preparing the best stages, so we look forward to your interest and expectations.”

Meanwhile, 2NE1 will hold the ‘WELCOME BACK’ concert over three days on October 4, 5, and 6 at the Olympic Hall in Seoul’s Olympic Park. Later, they will move to Kobe World Hall in Japan at the end of November and to the Ariake Arena in Tokyo in early December. They plan to expand their global tour schedule further and continue engaging closely with fans around the world into next year.
