BABYMONSTER’s Debut Single ‘SHEESH’ Surpasses 300 Million Views, Setting a Record for K-POP Girl Group Debut MVs
Ahead of the release of their first full album, girl group BABYMONSTER has set a new record with their official debut single ‘SHEESH.’
According to YG Entertainment on October 5, the music video for ‘SHEESH’ surpassed 300 million views on YouTube at around 11:40 PM the previous day, approximately 186 days after its release on April 1. This marks the fastest time for a K-POP girl group debut song music video to achieve this milestone, YG highlighted.
Immediately after its release, the music video shot to the top as the ‘Most Viewed Video within 24 Hours’ and subsequently dominated the YouTube Global Weekly Chart. The periods to reach 100 million views (10 days) and 200 million views (33 days) also set new records for a K-POP girl group.
The track ‘SHEESH’ also achieved notable success on music streaming platforms. It charted for 18 weeks on Billboard Global (Excl. U.S) and 14 weeks on the Billboard Global 200 charts. It also remained in the Spotify Weekly Top Song Global Chart for 10 consecutive weeks.
BABYMONSTER’s influence on YouTube continues to grow stronger each day, despite being newcomers. They already have six videos with over a hundred million views each. Their official channel boasts 6.94 million subscribers and the total views of their content exceed 2.6 billion.
This fall, BABYMONSTER is set to release their 1st full album.
