BABYMONSTER Breaks K-Pop Record with Over 7 Million YouTube Subscribers Ahead of Their First Album Release
As BABYMONSTER gears up for the release of their debut studio album [DRIP] on November 1st, they have shattered another K-pop record.
According to YG Entertainment on the 15th, BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel surpassed 7 million subscribers at approximately 10:50 AM today. This milestone was achieved in just 657 days since the channel’s launch on December 28, 2022, marking the fastest record for a K-pop group.
On YouTube, which leads the global music market, the number of subscribers is an indicator of a loyal fandom. Even before their official debut, BABYMONSTER had already attracted 4 million subscribers, and they have consistently expanded their fan base with each new song release.
The surge in subscribers was particularly steep following the announcement of their comeback. On the 11th, when a snippet of the track ‘CLIK CLAK’ from the upcoming album was released, the channel gained 10,000 new subscribers in just one day. Additionally, YG has announced the production of several music videos for the new album, including the title track, solidifying their strong position on YouTube.
Along with subscriber numbers, views are also consistently rising. Despite not having officially debuted for even a year, their strong global influence has produced six videos with over a hundred million views each. The total views for all content, including music videos and choreography videos, have now exceeded 2.6 billion.
Furthermore, the full soundtrack of BABYMONSTER’s first studio album [DRIP] will be released on November 1st at 1 PM, featuring a total of 9 tracks including the title track ‘DRIP’ composed by G-DRAGON.
