BABYMONSTER Surpasses 820,000 Sales with Debut Album… Poised to Become a Million Seller
Girl group BABYMONSTER has reached a career high with their first full album, scripting a tale of impressive growth.
According to YG Entertainment on the 9th, BABYMONSTER’s first full album “Drip” recorded about 820,000 orders just one week after its release on November 8. This marks a significant growth spurt, nearly doubling the sales of their debut album “BABYMONSTER” released in April this year, signaling a clear path toward becoming a million seller.
The anticipation for the first full album release and the influx of global fandom through their first fan meeting tour have significantly contributed to these results. Considering BABYMONSTER has just started promoting their first full album, final sales are expected to rise even further.
Additionally, the initial sales volume, a key indicator of the core fandom’s size, is remarkable. According to Hanteo Chart, “Drip” sold a total of 677,961 copies from November 1 to November 7, about 1.7 times the first week sales of their first mini album, which sold 401,287 copies.
BABYMONSTER will continue their active presence, appearing on SBS’s music show ‘Inkigayo’, variety programs like ‘Running Man’, radio shows, and YouTube starting from the 10th. They are also expected to gather more popularity with their first world tour planned for next year.
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER’s debut full album “Drip” has been making notable strides on various global charts since its release on November 1. The album topped the iTunes Album Charts in 14 regions and ranked first on Japan’s largest streaming site Line Music’s Album Top 100 Real-time Chart.
Their popularity on YouTube is equally strong. The music video for “Drip” hit number one on the ‘Most Viewed Videos within 24 Hours’ upon its release, and the pre-released music video for “Click Clack” also stayed in the top 10 of the global YouTube daily popular charts for four consecutive days, with views surpassing 60.07 million and 50.29 million, respectively.
