BABYMONSTER Makes Impressive Debut on Billboard 200 with First Full Album

YG’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER has proven their extraordinary global ascent by entering the main U.S. Billboard chart with their first full-length album.

According to the latest charts revealed via social media on November 11 (local time), BABYMONSTER’s debut album [DRIP] has entered the Billboard 200 at No. 149. It’s their first appearance on the Billboard 200, a chart that, along with the Hot 100, is considered one of the main indicators of success in the U.S. local fandom and global music markets.

The group’s entry into the Billboard 200, despite having officially debuted less than eight months ago, is an exceptionally rare achievement. BABYMONSTER’s global popularity had been anticipated early on. The U.S. Billboard had previously named BABYMONSTER as the most promising K-pop newcomer of 2024, commenting that “they splendidly decorated the year with their first full album, filled with attractive tracks,” and predicted successful outcomes for their future.

Indeed, BABYMONSTER is making its mark not only on the Billboard charts but on various global charts as well. Their album has dominated the iTunes Album Charts in 14 regions, reaching number one, and secured the second spot on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart. Additionally, they topped the real-time Top 100 Album Chart on Japan’s largest streaming site, Line Music.

On Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, the momentum continues to rise. One of the double title tracks, ‘DRIP,’ has charted in the Spotify Daily Top Songs Global chart on its eighth day, reaching a new personal best of 109th place today.

BABYMONSTER is also gradually climbing the major domestic music charts amid their active promotions for [DRIP] through music shows and variety show appearances. With their first world tour planned for next year, the group’s expansion is expected to intensify even further.
