BABYMONSTER Surpasses 1.5 Million Album Sales in Just Eight Months After Debut

Girl group BABYMONSTER has demonstrated their overwhelming presence in the global market by surpassing a total of 1.53 million album sales just eight months after their official debut.

According to YG Entertainment on November 14th, BABYMONSTER (RUKA, PHARITA, ASA, AHYEON, RAMI, RORA, CHIQUITA) achieved a combined domestic and international sales figure of 1.53 million albums, based on Circle Chart data. This remarkable achievement was reached with only two album releases. Their debut mini-album [BABYMONSTER 1st MINI ALBUM] recorded sales of 760,000 copies, while their first full album [DRIP] has already exceeded 770,000 copies and continues to rise.

Especially notable is that the full album [DRIP] surpassed the eight-month cumulative sales of the mini-album in less than two weeks of its release. Initially, the first-week sales exceeded 670,000 copies, with over 820,000 orders recorded in one week alone. With the current trend, BABYMONSTER is on the verge of achieving their first million-seller single album milestone.

Album sales are an indicator of the size and power of the core fandom, and BABYMONSTER’s explosive growth is evident. Their proven overpowering skills on stage, global fan meeting tours, and the rapid release of their first full album have all contributed to attracting a new fan base.

With a solid schedule continuing from the double title tracks ‘DRIP’ and ‘CLIK CLAK’ to the follow-up song ‘Love In My Heart,’ BABYMONSTER’s upward momentum is expected to strengthen even further. Next year, they plan to embark on their first world tour, which is eagerly anticipated by fans.

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER released their first full album [DRIP] on the 1st of this month and has achieved notable success across various charts. The album debuted at 149th on the Billboard 200 in the USA, and the title track ‘DRIP’ entered the Billboard Global Excl. U.S and Billboard Global 200 at 16th and 30th respectively, marking their highest positions yet.

Additionally, ‘DRIP’ remained on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global Chart for ten consecutive days, and in China’s largest music site QQ Music, both the double title tracks and new songs consistently topped the K-pop weekly charts. The track is also making significant strides in domestic music charts like Melon, showing signs of growing popularity.
