BABYMONSTER’s AHYEON Captivates with Her Unique Emotional Voice in ‘Limousine Service’
AHYEON of BABYMONSTER has genuinely stolen the hearts of global music fans with her commanding vocal performance.
On the afternoon of November 15, AHYEON appeared on the YouTube KBS Kpop channel’s web variety show ‘Limousine Service.’ As BABYMONSTER navigates the broadcast scene bustling with activities from their first full album [DRIP], this episode promised a stage filled with AHYEON’s deep emotions, drawing significant attention.
AHYEON kicked off with ‘Love, Maybe’ from BABYMONSTER’s new album. Her soft and emotional tone instantly immersed the audience, gradually building up the atmosphere and deeply engaging them in the song, leaving a profound lingering impression.
Following that, AHYEON reinterpreted ‘Vampire’ and ‘Hate Love’ with her unique style. Singing softly over a lyrical piano melody, and delivering soul-stirring high notes in the latter part, she offered an overwhelming emotional experience. Lee Mu-jin praised her excellent control of dynamics, saying, “Such song choices are possible because of her solid voice,” and “She accomplishes things we never expected.”
In her final performance, a cover of Big Bang’s ‘Flower Road,’ AHYEON matched perfectly in a duet with Lee Mu-jin. They exchanged glances while delicately harmonizing, naturally transitioning between rap and singing, showcasing her all-rounder capabilities.
Music fans worldwide have warmly responded to AHYEON’s live performances, surpassing all expectations. “It’s hard to believe her compelling appeal at such a young age,” “A voice unseen in K-pop,” and “We discovered new charms of AHYEON that were never seen in her previous activities,” they shared.
Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER has been actively promoting since their comeback on November 1 with their first full album [DRIP], achieving impressive results on various global charts. They will continue to charm fans with upcoming performances on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ today (November 16) and SBS ‘Inkigayo’ tomorrow (November 17).
