2NE1 Successfully Ends Their Concert in Japan…BABYMONSTER Appears as Surprise Guest
2NE1 has heated up the Japanese archipelago with their latest concerts.
The group held their “2024 2NE1 CONCERT [WELCOME BACK] IN JAPAN” at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo over three days on December 13, 14, and 15. Initially scheduled for just two days, the added performance on the 13th was a testament to their enduring popularity in the region as tickets sold out rapidly.
Amidst roaring cheers, 2NE1 opened the concert with powerful renditions of their intro “Come Back Home” and debut song “Fire.” They continued to electrify the audience with a series of energetic performances, including “Clap Your Hands,” “Can’t Nobody,” and “Do You Love Me,” packing the setlist with mega-hits throughout the show.
2NE1 has enjoyed immense popularity in Japan, setting various K-pop records during their previous activities. Celebrating their 15th anniversary, they connected with local fans by performing some of their hits in Japanese, conveying their sincerity and bringing smiles to many faces.
The concert featured a special surprise that stunned everyone. Following their Seoul concert appearance, BABYMONSTER made their debut as surprise guests in Japan, leaving a strong impression with their dynamic performance and solidifying their status as ‘monster rookies.’ The unexpected appearance heightened the excitement at the venue, showcasing a warm camaraderie between the YG girl groups, past and present.
The stage domination by the members, enhanced by high-quality YG productions using LEDs, live bands, and dancers, synergized to bring the encore atmosphere to a climax. Bathed in the beautifully coordinated lightsticks of fans, the members expressed their gratitude, “Thank you for always being there for us, BLACKJACK. Please stay with us forever. We love you.”
Meanwhile, 2NE1 is currently halfway through their 15th-anniversary Asia tour, having successfully completed concerts in Seoul, Manila, Jakarta, Kobe, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. They plan to continue this momentum, moving on to Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City, and Macau.
