BABYMONSTER Completes Recharge During One-Week Break…Overseas Members Revisit Home Countries
YG’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER is gearing up to cement its status as a ‘global phenomenon’ in 2025. After a year of comprehensive domestic and international activities that significantly marked their presence, they are now poised for a leap to bigger stages.
BABYMONSTER will kick off their ‘2025 BABYMONSTER 1st WORLD TOUR’ on January 25 and 26 in Seoul. The tour has confirmed 19 shows in 10 regions so far, including Newark and LA in the USA; Kanagawa, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka in Japan; and Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, with more cities to be announced soon.
In preparation for their world tour, BABYMONSTER recently dove into intense rehearsals. Following their full-length debut album comeback, they have been very active, including shooting four music videos last year, which warranted a well-deserved break. The overseas members took this opportunity to recharge by visiting their home countries and are now sweating it out to deliver their best performances, according to YG.
Through ‘HELLO MONSTERS’, BABYMONSTER is leaping into the global limelight. Their rapid world tour just 10 months after their debut, along with performances slated at the K-pop mecca KSPO DOME and major venues worldwide, has already stirred up considerable excitement. From promising rookies to trusted, skilled artists, BABYMONSTER’s influence is expanding globally.
This remarkable growth was possible thanks to the relentless effort they poured into their work throughout 2024. Since their official debut in April last year, they have solidified their musical identity with two album releases, and expanded their outreach through various broadcasts, fan meetings, and festivals.
BABYMONSTER made a strong debut, quickly becoming a popular sensation. Their first mini-album ‘BABYMONSTER’ broke the first-week sales record for a K-pop girl group debut album with 401,287 units, shaking up the music industry and announcing the arrival of a ‘monster rookie’.
Their activities picked up momentum with the title track ‘SHEESH’, which soared in music chart rankings. BABYMONSTER’s overwhelming live performance capabilities became the talk of the town, leading to chart reversals on various platforms. The track stayed on the Billboard Global chart for 18 weeks and the Spotify Weekly Top Song chart for 10 consecutive weeks, receiving widespread love.
Confidence in BABYMONSTER led to the rapid release of their first full-length album ‘DRIP’. The first-week sales were nearly double that of their previous release, achieving career highs by entering the ‘Billboard 200’ and topping major global charts in China and Japan.
Moreover, a 12-show fan meeting tour across seven cities and their performance at Japan’s largest music festival ‘Summer Sonic 2024’ gradually expanded their global reach. With a growing fandom and a world tour of unprecedented scale, BABYMONSTER is expected to soar even higher in 2025.
