BABYMONSTER Set to Release Their 6th MV ‘BILLIONAIRE’ from Their First Full Album

BABYMONSTER, well-known for their outstanding live performances, continues their impressive rise by unveiling new content.

YG Entertainment announced on January 31 that BABYMONSTER will release an EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO for ‘BILLIONAIRE’, a track from their 1st MINI ALBUM, on February 7, further accelerating their popularity.

Since the release of their debut album last year, BABYMONSTER has been at the center of attention, sequentially releasing music videos for the double title tracks ‘DRIP’ and ‘CLIK CLAK’, followed by ‘Love In My Heart’ and ‘Really Like You’. Including the pre-release track ‘FOREVER’, the album features a total of five music videos from its eight tracks, a rare promotional strategy even in the global music industry, highlighting YG’s unique affection and confidence in BABYMONSTER. The teaser at the end of the ‘Really Like You’ music video hinted at the production of this sixth official content with the phrase ‘BILLIONAIRE’ COMING SOON.

‘BILLIONAIRE’ will be released not just as a music video but as an EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO. YG stated that this approach was chosen to focus on raw performances, avoiding the extensive post-production work typical of music video formats.

This EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO is one of YG’s performance-focused contents, meticulously orchestrated by YG EXECUTIVE PRODUCER YANG HYUN SUK, who has heavily invested in maximizing the charm of music enhanced by choreography. Producer Yang has not only overseen the choreography for all videos from 2NE1 and BIGBANG but also from BLACKPINK, culminating in choreography-based videos that have amassed billions of views, including LISA’s ‘MONEY’ EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO, which has far exceeded a billion views globally.

‘BILLIONAIRE’ beautifully merges a sleek Y2K pop R&B sound with a deep 808 bass, incorporating flamenco elements. YG has ensured this blend is visually represented, applying flamenco costumes and performances, which promises to deliver a unique auditory and visual experience with the bold message that one’s worth cannot be quantified materially.

The performance video for ‘BILLIONAIRE’ was first unveiled during the initial concerts of their world tour on January 25 and 26 in Seoul, featuring intricate choreography with stringed costumes, which drew explosive responses on social media. YG mentioned, “As a special gift for fans who attended the concert, we presented an unfinished version, and we look forward to the final version being uploaded on February 7.”

Meanwhile, BABYMONSTER is embarking on their first world tour ‘HELLO MONSTERS’, starting at the KSPO DOME, the mecca of K-pop in Seoul. Successfully kicking off their first performance in Seoul, they will meet fans in 14 cities across 23 shows, including the USA, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei.
