YG: “BLACKPINK to set new record as the first girl group in the world to draw 100,000 attendees in LA”
BLACKPINK has once again made history in one of the world’s two largest music markets, the United States, signaling a powerful start to their North American tour.
BLACKPINK held their BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR ‘DEADLINE’ on July 12 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA. YG Entertainment stated, “Including the performance on the 13th (local time), BLACKPINK is set to achieve a new record as the first girl group in the world to sell out two consecutive days and draw the largest audience (approximately 100,000 people) at this venue.”
As this marked their reunion with North American fans after about 2 years and 8 months, the excitement at the venue was more intense than ever. When the powerful live band sound filled the air, fans erupted in cheers, and in response, BLACKPINK unleashed explosive energy with a hit song parade.
The following solo stages by the four members, each showcasing their unique colors, were undoubtedly the highlight. JISOO captivated the audience with her dreamy and lyrical emotions, while LISA mesmerized them instantly with her charismatic and commanding performance. JENNIE heated up the stage with her confident attitude and distinct hip-hop vibe, and ROSÉ energized the venue with her delicate vocals and playful energy.
Additionally, YG’s signature high-quality concert production and BLACKPINK’s unrivaled presence completely filled the massive venue without a single gap. They delivered a more upgraded live performance and mature stage manners, creating an overwhelming experience every minute and every second. Freely moving across the stage, they shared passionate moments with the audience.
Having successfully completed the Los Angeles performance, the starting point of their North American tour that spans 7 shows across 4 cities, BLACKPINK will now head to Chicago, Toronto, and New York. Following that, they will light up stadium-scale venues across the world, including Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK released their new digital single ‘뛰어 (JUMP)’ on July 11.
