YG BLACKPINK, No. 1 on Spotify Global for 5 Consecutive Days… Signal of Long-Running Popularity
YG Entertainment announced on the 18th that BLACKPINK’s new digital single ‘뛰어 (JUMP)’ topped the Spotify Daily Top Songs Global Chart on the 16th (local time). This achievement follows their record-breaking milestone on the 12th, when they set a new K-pop record for the most No. 1 songs on the chart, maintaining the top spot for five consecutive days.
Not only are they staying at the top across countries in Europe, North America, and Asia, but they also continue to achieve their personal best rankings in the U.S., reaching No. 15. The cumulative streaming count surpassed 46 million in about a week since its release.
In addition, the ‘뛰어 (JUMP)’ music video rose to the “Most Viewed Video in 24 Hours” upon release and went straight to No. 1 on YouTube’s Global Daily Top Music Videos, holding the throne for six consecutive days.
Various other metrics are also showing a steady upward curve. ‘뛰어 (JUMP)’ reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart and continues to break its own records on domestic platforms such as Melon, Genie, and Flo. Notably, during the Mnet ‘M Countdown’ broadcast on the 17th, BLACKPINK claimed No. 1 with an overwhelming digital score despite not appearing on the show, proving their unrivaled presence.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is currently on their ‘BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR <DEADLINE>’, spanning 16 cities with 31 shows. Having successfully wrapped up the first concert in Goyang and the stage in Los Angeles, they are set to light up stadium venues around the world, including Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
