YG Entertainment Unveils Plans for BABYMONSTER and TREASURE; YANG HYUN SUK says “Rookies Will Also Be Revealed Sequentially”

YG Entertainment (hereafter YG) Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK has revealed the 2026 activity schedule for the agency’s artists.

On April 30, YG posted “BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, AND UPCOMING ROOKIES | YG ANNOUNCEMENT” on its official blog.

With BABYMONSTER’s 3rd mini album set to be released on May 4, the first track was revealed to be “MOON”, a dark yet swag-filled hip-hop track. YANG HYUN SUK explained, “YG has been holding a lot of Song Camps lately,” adding, “This is the first time YG has worked with this team. And I have to say, they have a really sleek and distinctive approach to their sound design,” further raising anticipation.

The title track “CHOOM” was developed over an extensive period to deliver a performance that lives up to its name. While choreography is usually commissioned to two to three teams, it was exceptionally expanded to around 10 teams this time. Notably, YANG HYUN SUK, who has created choreography for many of YG’s iconic hits, personally participated in working on the chorus section, enhancing the overall quality. In addition, other tracks introduced include the fast-tempo, high-energy “I LIKE IT”, and the slow track “LOCKED IN”, which highlights the members’ vocal range.

YANG HYUN SUK also revealed that starting with the title track “CHOOM”, a total of four music videos will be released sequentially. Following the new album, preparations are underway for the digital single release of “SUGAR HONEY” (tentative title) in June, with music video releases for “I LIKE IT” and “MOON” slated for July and August, respectively. This underscores the full-scale support YG is putting behind this project.  

In addition, TREASURE is set to open a new chapter with a mini album confirmed for a June 1 release, featuring four hip-hop-based tracks. YANG HYUN SUK stated, “TREASURE debuted during the pandemic and faced many challenges in the global market,” adding, “Personally, this is the album I love the most,” expressing confidence and raising expectations.

At the end of the video, YANG HYUN SUK said, “BABYMONSTER’s album, which we’ve poured our hearts into with producers for the past year, will be released soon, and TREASURE’s new album will follow in about a month,“ adding, “I hope this brings you even more joy and excitement than I could have ever imagined.” He concluded by stating, “We’ll also be unveiling YG’s new artists one by one.”
