YG Entertainment to Officially Debut New 5-Member Boy Group After 6 Years in September

YG Entertainment has announced that it will launch a new boy group for the first time in six years.

On April 30, YG Entertainment posted ‘BABYMONSTER, TREASURE, AND UPCOMING ROOKIES | YG ANNOUNCEMENT’ on its official blog. YANG HYUN SUK, Executive Producer of YG Entertainment, personally introduced the company’s major projects planned for the second half of this year through an interview.

YANG HYUN SUK stated, “In the last interview, I mentioned through the captions we’re planning to launch YG’s new boy group this fall,” adding, “As of now, we expect to introduce YG’s new boy group this coming September. I’m sure you’re all curious about them. We’ve finalized the lineup with five members.”

As this marks YG’s first new boy group in six years, the five-member lineup stands out as a distinct departure from TREASURE’s large-scale structure. With a carefully selected lineup, it signals the birth of a ‘complete group’ that maximizes each member’s individuality and talent.

YANG HYUN SUK also added, “We’ll also be unveiling YG’s new IPs and new artists one by one,” hinting at the formation of a strong rookie lineup alongside the highly-anticipated new girl group ‘NEXT MONSTER(tentative title).’

Previously, YG announced a series of major projects for this year, including new album releases and active global promotions for BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, as well as a 20th-anniversary world tour for BIGBANG. Consequently, 2026 is expected to become a significant turning point, with both active promotions from existing artists and the large-scale debut of new groups that will lead YG’s future.
