BABYMONSTER’s “CHOOM” Debuts at No. 35 on U.S. Mediabase “Top 40” Radio Chart

BABYMONSTER has achieved a meaningful milestone on a U.S. radio chart.

On July 27, YG ENTERTAINMENT announced, citing the latest chart released by U.S. radio monitoring company Mediabase for the tracking period of July 19–25, that “CHOOM,” the title track of BABYMONSTER’s third mini album of the same name, had entered the “Top 40 Radio Chart” at No. 35.

This marks BABYMONSTER’s first-ever entry on a U.S. mainstream radio chart. The achievement is particularly notable as it was accomplished without any separate local promotional activities. “CHOOM” is currently being played on major U.S. radio stations, including KIIS-FM in Los Angeles, Z100 (WHTZ-FM) in New York, and WKSC-FM in Chicago.

Mediabase’s “Top 40 Radio Chart” ranks songs based on airplay data from major radio stations across the United States and Canada. As related data is also reflected in Billboard’s “Radio Songs” chart, a component of its main singles chart, the “Hot 100,” it is regarded as a key indicator for measuring mainstream popularity and influence in the North American music market.

Released in May this year, BABYMONSTER’s third mini album “CHOOM” uses the word “CHOOM” as both the album and title track name, reflecting the group’s ambition to captivate global listeners through music and performance. The album sold more than 750,000 copies in approximately one week and topped iTunes charts in 19 regions as well as the Worldwide Albums chart.

BABYMONSTER is currently on their second world tour, “CHOOM,” which began in Seoul last month. The group is scheduled to hold a total of 29 concerts across 18 cities on five continents, including Japan, other parts of Asia, North America, Europe, and South America.
