BIGBANG Goes All Out for 20th Anniversary… Special Events Take Over Jamsil, Plus First New Song in Four Years
BIGBANG will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut with the release of a new song as well as a large-scale special event.
According to YG ENTERTAINMENT on August 10, BIGBANG will hold a large-scale special event throughout the Jamsil area of Songpa-gu, Seoul. The project will feature a variety of programs that both fans and the general public can enjoy together.
The special events will take place across Jamsil from August 14 to 23. A media exhibition will be held at the Art Hall on the sixth floor of Jamsil AVENUEL, featuring archival footage tracing BIGBANG’s activities over the past 20 years, behind-the-scenes concert footage, and new still images.
An MD SHOP connected to the exhibition will be set up on the first basement floor of LOTTE WORLD MALL, where limited-edition desserts created in collaboration with a bakery brand will also be available. On the fifth-floor bridge connecting AVENUEL and LOTTE WORLD MALL, an interactive event based on the main theme “COSMOS” will be held. Visitors can enter messages of support on a tablet, which will then be converted into “Arecibo Code,” a cosmic message, and visualized as media art.
A lighting event sponsored by Songpa-gu will also be held. Lighting inspired by the “BANG BONG” light stick and a “BANG BONG CROWN” installation will be set up at the eastern section of Seokchon Lake and its waterside stage. In particular, a special lighting ceremony is scheduled for 8:19 p.m. on the group’s debut anniversary.
Alongside the event, BIGBANG will release their new digital single “BiiiG” at 6 p.m. on August 19, marking their return with their first new song in four years.
Having debuted in 2006 with the single album “BIGBANG,” the group currently continues its activities as the three-member lineup of G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG.
