It took nine long years for YG to introduce a new boy group to the world. A year had passed since the production announcement of YG's rookie survival program, WIN: WHO IS NEXT. The truth is, it took longer than promised for the victorious WINNER to step forward with their debut album [2014 S/S]. YG promised the public both “time” and a “masterpiece album,” which resulted in the delayed release of WINNER's debut album [2014 S/S]. YG opted for “perfection” over “time” and worked on dozens of songs, ultimately selecting and arranging ten self-composed songs that blended the artists’ distinct personalities and voices in various genres.

WINNER's debut album [2014 S/S] was YG's “answer” to the world's curiosity and anticipation for the first boy group in nine years, and the “response” from WINNER to the love and support of Team A fans who wanted them to shine sooner.
